Slowly Javea is getting back to normal, the terraces of restaurants and bars are open again and also other services will start up soon. Like the touristic train for example and for the first time it will make a route between the Arenal, Port ánd the Historical Center. For all the information and exact route check Javea.com.

More great news, the “chiringuitos”, the typical Spanish beach bars on the Muntanyar beach will also be open again from the 15^th of June. See you there?

The market of Javea, one of the beloved places for both residents and tourists, is opening again this Thursday.

In the beginning it will be only food market places like fruits and vegetables but hopefully soon all others will join and we can enjoy the market as before with all kinds of products (clothes, leather wear, local product, souvenirs and so on).

Each Thursday from 8.00 till 13.30h on the Plaza de la Constitucion.

Spain is slowly starting to reopen, in Phase 1 even restaurants, bars and tourist accommodations may be partially open again, although still under strict conditions and initially you're only allowed to travel within the province. If all goes well, by the end of June everything should be back to normal, at least within Spain.

In the meantime we are of course not sitting still and we are working hard on protocols and adjustments so that your holiday in an apartment or holiday home with us in Javea can take place as safely as possible.

For example facilitating options to arrange online as much as possible before checking in on your day of arrival, safely handing over keys after they have been disinfected and adapted protocols for cleaning and preparing your holiday accommodation or second home.

This is not something new, we've been providing property checks for our home owners since 2015. Not only do we check if everything is still in place and check the water and electricity meter for you, we can also air the property, flush the toilets, keep an eye on the garden and pool maintenance, check for any humidity problems or water leaks etc. and we will report back to you with photos after each visit.

From the many restrictions and measures that took place these days due to the Corona virus, here a few that are relevant and important to know for second home owners in Javea:

Amjasa suspends the collection of water bills in Xàbia during the emergency state and will study case by case aid to the consumers who need it (20/03/2020). This means you won't receive your water bills at the moment, when the emergency state is lifted people can request help or instalment of payments.

“Orden de suspensión de apertura al publico de establecimientos de alquiler turístico hasta la finalización de la declaración del estado del alarma y sus posibles prorrogas” (17/03/2020). For home owners who rent out their property it's important to know that as long as the emergency state has been declared you're not allowed to rent out your holiday home or receive guests. All holiday accommodations cannot be open to public.

All deadlines for the payment of local taxes such as garbage or vehicles are also suspended by the town hall.

We recommend you to check the website of the town hall to keep informed.

Please find here our adapted cancellation policy for holiday rentals due to the exceptional circumstances we all live right now with COVID-19:

1. All bookings within the official quarantine period of Javea (Spain) can be cancelled without any costs.
2. If the tenant is placed in quarantine in his place of residence or the airline cancels the flight because of the Corona virus, the tenant can cancel without any costs, providing the relevant evidence.
3. For all other bookings we offer the possibility of changing the dates to another date in the future or you can cancel without loosing your down payment, this amount can be used for a new booking for any date and any accommodation of your choice.

Spain will remain in strict lock down until the 9th of May but some non essentials jobs like construction works or industries are allowed to go back to work again from Monday 13/04 onwards, after being closed two weeks, taking into account the strict measures. As for jobs at residences or private homes, this is only allowed in places where there are no residents living at the moment.

You're allowed to leave the house for: grocery shopping (one person only), go to the pharmacy, doctor or bank (if necessary), go to your work and back (depending on your job), take care of elderly or dependant persons and the basic things as walking your dog (only a short walk around the block) and taking out the trash to the nearest bin.

You're not allowed to do sports in the open air, go to the park, walk on the beach or in the mountains, gather with friend or any other social event or activity.

From Monday 27th of April, children will be allowed to leave the house, accompanied by one adult and for a limited amount of time.

This morning we went with our professional photographer to two of our homes to take pictures. Mainly these photo shoots are for advertisement purposes, second home owners that rent out their property, properties where we take care of the rental or owners who have a property for sale.

Although the best time of the year is said to be in spring, this is not always possible due the fact that holiday homes home may be occupied by then on a regular base, plus owners need the photos right away for their advertisements.

This picture was taken preparing the photo shoot this morning in La Casita. As you can see, January in Javea isn't too bad either ;)
